Un ex policier poursuit des motards responsables de la mort de sa femme. MAD MAX façonne un nouveau mythe cinématographique : avec sa caméra glissant à quelques millimètres de l’asphalte, collant aux pneus, aux pare-chocs, George Miller invente toutes les constantes d’un cinéma barbare, viscéral dont l’ultra violence à tous les niveaux est le carburant privilégié. Interdit en France durant 2 ans le film est montré une première fois dans une version expurgée, puis ressort en 83 dans sa version intégrale. En copie neuve.
